Discover the story of the UAE at Zayed National Museum, the UAE’s national museum located in the heart of Saadiyat Cultural District, Abu Dhabi. Designed by renowned architect Lord Norman Foster of Foster + Partners, the museum’s striking architecture is inspired by the wings of a falcon in flight.
Explore the UAE’s history, heritage and identity through immersive galleries, archaeological discoveries, historic objects, audiovisual experiences and contemporary installations. The museum’s collection includes more than 3,000 artefacts, with over 1,500 objects currently on display, taking visitors on a journey spanning around 300,000 years of human history.
Highlights include the story and legacy of Sheikh Zayed, ancient archaeological discoveries, the UAE’s maritime and pearling heritage, traditional Emirati culture, and connections between the UAE and wider regions through trade, migration and cultural exchange.
Visitors can also explore Al Masar Garden, a 600-metre outdoor gallery featuring native landscapes, a traditional falaj irrigation system, sculptures, installations and a timeline exploring Sheikh Zayed’s life and the history of the UAE.
